About Small Group Ministry

WHAT IS A SMALL MINISTRY GROUP?
A small group is an intentional gathering of up to 10-15 people who come together on a regular basis with the common purpose of growing in Christ and ministering to each other.
This is accomplished through these four elements:
1. Christian Fellowship: In sharing their lives with each other, group members develop trust and Christian friendship.
2. Study: Each group spends some portion of its group meeting on a Bible study, scripture-based curriculum. Learning how God speaks through God’s Word is vital to spiritual growth.
3. Prayer: Praying for each other’s needs and concerns is part of caring for each other and strengthening relationships. It builds faith and keeps attention directed towards Jesus Christ.
4. Service: Groups that serve together form stronger bonds of community and support Redeemer’s mission.
Each small group gathering includes the elements of fellowship, study, prayer, and service. However, the time dedicated to each of the elements will vary as shown in the diagram below.
