Communion Bread Recipe
Communion Bread Recipe
Communion bread is now used for all services, so the bread needs to be to church on Saturday before 5:00 pm in the sacristy (behind the stone wall) on the countertop. Please follow the recipe provided here for making the communion bread (it has changed).
If you are unable to provide bread on your scheduled time, please switch with someone else on the list (you can check for other breadmakers HERE) and let the office know so we can make the correct changes to the bulletins and screens. Thank you for serving! Any questions feel free to call the office at 352-1325 / redeemer@redeemerwaverly.org or call Carol Zander at 352-0964.
Recipe:
Heat together: (warm not hot)
3 T. margarine or butter
4 1/2 T. honey
2 1/4 c. milk
Add:
1 T. salt
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 T. sugar
Stir in:
3 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. white flour
Place dough on the floured surface. Knead a couple of times. If dough is sticky, add a little flour to make dough smooth. Make into 5 round flat loaves, about 5-6 inches across and 3/4 - 1 inch thick. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done.
